A Little Shark in a Deep Ocean.

A Little Shark in a Deep Ocean is an illustrated children’s book. The story is about the main character, a little shark, who lives in the ocean. Being the first to anything from school to competitions with other creatures in his village, he decides to take the chance to travel and see the rest of the world. In his travel, he makes a new friend, a blue octopus Ottolino, who saves his life.

Starting from brainstorming the story to the first sketches of characters, the project developed through different phases. The storyboards were first designed by hand with an initial manuscript. Then, all the sketches were recreated as a digital version in Adobe Illustrator. From the black and white lines, the illustration began to shape and convert to a watercolor and full color vision of the ocean. Vibrant colors and a range of blues have been used to create contrast between the scenes and the characters. All the artboards have been then recollected on Adobe InDesign to proceed with the finalized project ready for the print.
